More About Bellevue Real Estate
With a median home price for Bellevue of $140,000, this community is remarkably affordable. As part of the oldest continuous town in Nebraska, Bellevue real estate offers some tremendous opportunities to own heritage homes dating as far back as the nineteenth century, but you'll also find extremely new properties here in a variety of modern styles. These include traditional multi-story homes, bungalows, ranches, and even Tudor-style and Colonial-style manors and cottages. What's more, a strong community spirit has contributed to making sure these homes are well-maintained and their landscaping is meticulous.
Even the more modestly priced homes in Bellevue tend to offer generous square footage that's perfect for families or anyone who needs a little space for their hobbies or even a small business. Yards tend to be equally spacious, inviting you to do a little grilling, get the kids in the splash pool, or just take in the summer sun.
Some of the features that you'll typically discover in the Bellevue real estate listings include:
- 9 foot or higher ceilings
- Oversized patios and pergolas
- Multi-car garages
- Rich hardwood flooring
- Stainless steel kitchen appliances
- New furnaces, roofs, and windows
There are a lot of choices in Bellevue homes for sale. But if you're looking for that rare combination of rural charm and modern convenience, you can't do better than here. It's a small city that's only minutes from Omaha.

Life in Bellevue Homes For Sale
Bellevue was originally settled in the 1830s as a fur-trading post, it was incorporated in 1855 due to significant population increase. It is considered the "Birthplace of Nebraska" and is the oldest continuous town in Nebraska. The Nebraska State Legislature even deemed it the second oldest settlement in Nebraska. The town saw a spike in growth once again when Offutt Air Force Base was founded. Bellevue remains mostly residential but offers some employment opportunities through the school and healthcare systems, most commute to nearby Omaha or Council Bluffs.
In French, Bellevue means "beautiful view." This term proves accurate with one of the boundaries of the city being the Fontenelle Forrest and another being the Missouri River. Fontenelle Forrest provides a natural retreat for the residents and offers abundant hiking and wildlife. It holds 1,300 acres of forest and features two learning centers to educate visitors about the wetlands and preservation of the natural forest habitat.
With just over 50,000 calling Bellevue home, its schools receive high ratings from parents and students. This makes the community highly attractive for families with children. Bellevue is also home to Bellevue University, bringing excellent educational experience close to all Bellevue homes for sale.
